Avocado Face Mask

This avocado face mask is an all natural, simple, homemade avocado mask that uses the power of nature to help tone, condition, and refresh your skin.

My family has made some major changes over the past few years to embrace a more “back to basics” lifestyle. You know, things like eating real food, making our own toxic-free products, and connecting with mother nature a little more. And the one message that keeps surfacing for us is:

Nature is pretty awesome.

Whether you are putting it in your body or on your body, nature has provided a lot of powerful tools to help us live a more vibrant, healthy life. The best part? Most often the things that are good for your belly are also good for the face.

This little wonder may have an outer rind that resembles an old leathery pear, but the inside green-goodness is a staple in skin-care products. Why? Well, with its high-fat content, rich consistency, and nutrient-goodness this little piece of nature packs a moisturizing punch.

When you combine this with the emollient power of honey and the nutritive properties found in the egg yolk, this simple homemade facial mask will help tone, condition, and refresh your skin. It’s perfect for a night of pampering or as a morning beauty ritual.

Avocado Face Mask | All Natural



  1. Puree all the ingredients of the avocado face mask in a blender. (I love to use my magic bullet. It works perfectly for small stuff like this.)
  2. Place a warm washcloth over your face for 20 – 30 seconds. This will help open your pores so your skin can “eat up” all the nutritious goodness of the mask.
  3. Apply a thin layer of the avocado mask evenly over your face. Leave it there for 10 – 15 minutes.
  4. Gently wipe off with a moist cloth.
  5. Bask in the glory of your newly refreshed face!


As you wait the ten minutes to let your skin soak everything up, be careful of where you leave the remaining batch of the avocado mask. You may come back to find your spouse indulging a little, too.

    I have used plain avocado as a moisturizer and it works so well, I don’t use anything else and only use it very occasionally. I keep my avocado skins in the freezer and thaw one and wipe the residual avocado on the skin to be moistened.

    Hi, while I have not tried this particular facial recipe, I have used avocado for my daughter’s hair for quiet a while now. I like to buy the avocados when they are on sell I make the hair treatment, which is just avocado and olive oil blended, then I separate them into plastic containers and freeze them. This seems to keep them from turning brown even when we defrost them to use it.

      I wish! That’s the one problem with using avocados, they really don’t store well. Adding lemon might keep it from going brown, but lemon has a tendency to “whiten” things… like the skin. So I probably wouldn’t recommend that. 🙂

    I was wondering, as your note said “the remaining batch”, if it will turn brown as avocado tends to do. How much does it make? I am guessing any remaining should be kept in the refrigerator?

      Because of the avocado it won’t keep for very long. It makes enough to fill that glass container showed above. Definitely enough for several people to use. But if you only need it for your own face, you could cut the recipe in half (and then use the other half of the avocado for lunch!) 🙂
