Ingredients

Instructions

  1. To make this cranberry sauce recipe add cranberries, diced apples, water, nutmeg, and cloves to a medium saucepan. Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the cranberries have burst and the apples have begun to soften.
  2. Add the maple syrup and continue to simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has thickened, 10-15 minutes.
  3. Taste and add additional maple syrup to sweeten, if desired.

Notes

If you like a smooth sauce, puree the mixture using an immersion blender, or transfer the sauce to a stand mixer and puree until smooth. Return to the saucepan and simmer over medium-low heat until your desired thickness is reached.
